Oberlin’s student volunteers were among the best actors we’ve had join us on stage, and Centennial’s students asked some of the best questions we’ve heard. Favorite: “How do you learn a character and does it change you?” So profound!

Today Aggregate and @theallimaecarnesstudio families joined other community members at @ridgeraleigh to package food to send for world hunger relief through @riseagainsthunger. Not only was this meaningful to those who will receive the food, it was also meaningful to us for the chance to work and have fun together helping others. Thank you to all who came out to support!

We’re partnering with @smallisallproductions to bring you this new Theatre for the Very Young show, created for audiences ages 2-5 to experience and fall in love with theatre. “Circle and Square” is an endearing and adorable show featuring some of our favorite professional actors in the area playing two of the most famous shapes of all time 🤪🟪 as they explore the world and learn to play together.

We are feeling so grateful for the nearly 40 students, parents, and siblings who came over the past month to help on our set build days for our upcoming productions of #AliceinWonderland and #IntotheWoods with @theallimaecarnesstudio. Not only was everyone generous of their time, they were also generous in their spirit. What a great time we had! Thank you to everyone who came out to help!

We had such a great time joining @ollsraleigh this semester to put on #aladdinjr, which performed this past weekend, directed by @matthewteaches. These students worked so hard! It was the first time doing theatre for most of them, and I think we’ve made a few lifelong theatre fans as a result.

Congratulations to the cast and crew on a wonderful production! And huge thanks to all of the parents and administrators that helped us to make this show soar.

Meet Aqua-lyta!

Today was the last day of our six-week Midsummer homeschool class, and we crafted someone very special to join our class photo. Throughout our sessions, we had to call on @matthewteaches’ gigantic water bottle to stand in for characters in scenes when we had more characters than students. The first and best role? Hippolyta. As a celebration of the end of class, students created a proper face, veil, wedding gown, arms, eyelashes, etc. for this Queen of the Amazons. She then had to experience the life of a theatre teaching artist for the rest of the day, as Matthew didn’t have the heart to…well…deconstruct her.

What a fantastic class with fantastic students, and a great momento to boot. We have a feeling you haven’t seen the last of Aqua-lyta…or our homeschool classes.
